Mussels in White Wine Sauce


  • 2 lbs Fresh, live mussels
  • Lemon
For White Wine Sauce:
  • 2 C dry white wine
  • ½ T flour
  • ½ C shallots, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • ¼ C basil
  • Salt
  • Pepper


  1. Preheat grill to high heat, around 500 degrees. Prep mussels by rinsing under cool water.
  2. On a stove top, combine white wine, flour, shallots, garlic, and basil. Mix until combined, salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Fill Outset Chef’s Outdoor Grill Basket and Skillet with mussels and place on grill. Grill on high for 6-8 minutes or until a majority of the mussels have opened.
  4. Empty mussels into a large glass bowl from grill basket and pour white wine sauce over top. Finish with a few squirts of lemon juice and garnish with lemon wedge when serving.
