Classic American Cheeseburger


  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 2 T Ketchup
  • 2 t Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 T onion powder
  • 1 T salt
  • 1 T pepper
  • 6 large burger buns
For garnishing:
  • Sliced American Cheese
  • Fresh Lettuce
  • Sliced Tomato
  • Sliced Red Onion
  • Mayonnaise


  1. Combine ground beef, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and onion powder in a large bowl. Section out 6 patties and chill for 30 minutes to prevent burgers from breaking when placed on grill.
  2. Heat grill to high and use a grill brush to remove excess food particles on grill surface.
  3. Place patties on high heat and cover. Wait 3-5 minutes. Flip patties and grill for another 3-5 minutes. Turn down heat and add 2 slices of American cheese.
